Trojans Down Bears!

The Milpitas Trojans (12-0, 6-0) beat the Menl- Atherton Bears (7-5, 3-2) 33-20 last Friday night @ Milpitas. The Trojans wasted no time in getting out to a lead. Tuni Fifita intercepted a pass and raced 48 yds for the TD and a 7-0 Trojan lead 4 plays into the game. The teams battled back and forth for the rest of the half. The Bears scored before half to make it 7-7 at intermission. The Trojans scored on their 2nd drive of the 3rd qtr when Tyree Bracy found twin brother Tariq Bracy from 4 yds out and a 14-7 lead. On the ensuing Bears posession Tariq struck again. He intercepted a pass and bolted in from 28 yds and a 21-7 lead at the end of the 3rd qtr. A Fifita 45 yd punt pinned the bears at their own 7. Abraham Vea and JT Vete then pressured the Bears QB into an intentional grounding in the endzone for a safety and a 23-7 lead. Tariq then returned the ensuing free kick into bears territory. The drive stalled and Mariano Robles made a 39 yd FG and a 26-7 lead with 9 minutes left. After 2 Bear TD's in 7 minutes they had one last chance. They were on the Trojans 40 and a holding call against Isaiah Cotton pushed them back. On the next play Cotton and JT Vete pressured the QB and he fumbled backward and Vete recovered in the end zone for the final points of the night! Tyree was 11-19-80 and a TD. Tariq led all rushers w/ 48 yds and also caught a TD. Fifita led all receivers w/ 3-52. The Trojan D were the stars of the night. Christian Garcia led the way w/ 15 tackles. Isaiah Cotton had 11 tackles and 4 sacks. Cotton was constantly harassing the Bears QB all night. He also had 3 holding penalties committed against him. His opposite defensive mate JT Vete had 6 tackles, a sack 2 fumble recoveries and a TD. In all the Trojan D outscored the Bears 23-20. They had 7 sacks, 3 INT's, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 TD's and a safety. It was a great team effort by the Trojans!
